Description

Just a photo I snapped and edited while I was in Iowa. I have fallen in love with the unplanned detail of this picture.
I have learned that the smallest accidents can become the biggest and greatest pieces of art out there.

Firstly, I'm in absolute agreement with the unplanned shots always being the best surprises. I'm so glad you love it, it's a wonderful image.

The overall thumb drew me in for it's magical, ethereal quality. It feels like fairytale, the model could be either fae or human lost deep in their land. The stunning light and muted colour fits perfectly. Love the shadows.

I adore the focus, the sharp cracked stone detail juxtaposed with the softly focussed, mud-covered foot, the texture of that rock is crazy-beautiful. The crack itself opens feelings of great age, even unease.

The limb positioning is my only off-point. And i appreciate how difficult getting all the vital elements of the shot in is. But the upper right of the shot looks just a wee bit cramped and badly angled. My only suggestion would be perhaps to have crouched instead of bending down, and stuck your leg out in front, angled. As if climbing down, maybe including more of your body in the shot, and having your foot further away. Perhaps even having it portrait instead of landscape. Saying this i do love the framing and composition. It's different for this theme. It creates a huge narrative by including just enough information to get the imaginative juices flowing. It works.

It's a damn fine shot missy, full of lovely magic and mystery <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" />
